Operation Martlet , 25th June , 49th Division pushed down from the Haute Ventes to the Rauray Spur.Their opening battles for Fonteny le Presnel, Tessel wood, The Battle of Rauray Furious german defence by 12SS and Panzer Lehr saw slow progress for the diversion to Operation Epsom

Operation Epsom 26th June. The opening battle for the 15th Scottish division with attached armour brigades, 11th Armoured Division and 43rd wessex Division. Hear how the Scots battled their way forward through the 12th SS to cross the Odon River and eventually reach Hill 112.

The germans through everything they had at the scottish corridor, including the newly arrived 2nd SS Panzer Corps

Hill 112, The Crown of Thorns, Cornwall wood. Anyone who stands here will understand why it was considered the Keystone of the Normandy campaign.
